The importance of sustainability and the impact it can have on our environment is a key part of the WYLDE MOON product development and distribution process. While we know consumerism is controversial, we are aware that it's not going anywhere, so we do the best with what we have to make sure your purchasing experience is as clean as possible. 

So how does WYLDE MOON make sustainable choices?

British Manufacturing at it's Best

First and foremost, as a brand we want to “support local” and opt for the UK-Made route wherever possible. In choosing this path, we have had the privilege of working with some of the most skilled and knowledgeable crafts people in the UK to produce the high-quality, beautiful products you have come to know and love. 

British Perfumers

All of WYLDE MOON’s scents are created by British perfumers and our fragranced products are hand-poured in the UK, offering further opportunity to support British business.

British Ceramics

With the idea of supporting British businesses in mind, our candle and diffuser vessels are hand crafted in Stoke on Trent, the world famous, home of pottery for many years. Our craftsmen use a traditional, complex and hand-crafted process to create the gorgeous vessels that home our curated products. 

Reuse & Recycle

Don’t forget that you can do your bit too. Once you have finished using our products, our ceramics are so beautiful they can be reused throughout your homes, rather than ending up in landfill. 

We love seeing all the in-genius ways our customers reuse our product vessels - ranging from coffee bean holders to vases and even dog poo bag dispensers… thank you, Holly, for that one! 

Renewable Resources

All the ingredients used to create our candle wax are composed of non-petroleum, renewable resources; promoting the growth and care of the environment while burning crisp and clean with a gentle natural glow. So, that’s better for you and better for the environment.

Our Waxing Moons wax melts are made from from 100% natural vegan-friendly soy wax.

Our Reed Diffuser Oil is made up of fragrance oil and a solvent base developed from Glycerin, which is a renewable source. The base is sustainable, high-performance and non-flammable.

Sustainable Packaging

Packaging is a key way for us to be environmentally responsible and here are all the little ways we do our bit:

Retail Cartons:
All board used for retail cartons is printed in the UK and is FSC certified and fully recyclable. 

‘No-plastic’ Cello-wrap:
Where products have to be cello-wrapped, we use ‘no plastic’, recyclable cello-wrap that is certified home compostable within 8-12 weeks. The cellulose is derived from FSC certified renewable wood pulp. 

Shipping Cartons:
All orders are despatched using recyclable boxes filled with natural paper shred (made from recycled material and is 100% recyclable). 

Clam Shells:
Our Waxing Moons clam shell packaging is made from eco-friendly Ocean Plastic, which transforms plastic from our coastline into purposeful products that inspire action. Ocean grade is a new product for 2022 – this contains 30% recycled plastic bottles that are collected from riverbanks, beaches and coastlines which are cleaned and reprocessed back into polymer to make the film used to produce the packaging. Most of the collection is done in the far east where recycling and waste management is a problem owing to the poor economies – the manufacturers pay to collect the waste and provide extra jobs and therefore money to support the local communities.

In summary, along with the rest of the world, we are always listening and learning on how we can do better. We aren’t claiming to be perfect, or to always get it 100% right, but by aiming to keep sustainability in the front of our minds when developing new products, we hope to do our part for the environment. We are currently working on diffuser refills for you, which will mean those who already own our diffuser set won’t have to repurchase a whole new set every time it runs out, so watch this space - we are on the case!
